Thanks chaps, I'm chuffed you like it, you never know how something is going to turn out when you start it! It took about thirty or so hours in the end I think. Most of that time was doing the pyrograpy with a tiny hot needle! Sometimes I literally fell asleep doing it! I really should finish her but I get fed up easily if I lose interest! There are some bigger clearer pics on my site... www.craftsman.mosaicglobe.comOr Here www.flickr.com/photos/craftsman/sets/72157605107492608/(Click on a pic, when the bigger one shows up, click on 'all sizes' above the image and then on 'original' These are the biggest pics that show the details) Andrew

Hi
I'm Pete, Danny's dad (aka Dear Old English Dad)
I've got the use of my boy's old laptop, and since i'm learning a bit of bodhran bashing, I thought I'd check in here.
I'm grateful for any tips on the bashing!
Pete
P.S. I couldn't use Pete as someone else had already taken it.

Hi Ned
Welcome to the gang, lots of practice on the frailing strum. IThe way i play i can only describe my right hand motion as rocking from side to side whilst trying to knock on a door!!
Cheers
Roj

Hello Pete, You are very, very welcome! We sorely need some percussionists around here, (and maybe even some double bassists) jamming is so much easier when someone can set a rhythm! Congrats by the way on raising such a fine musician/weblord as Danny! Note to self:..I must learn how to fashion one of those drum bangy stick things that you use! Andrew

Hi, I'm Dave and new to the forum.
I've got my first banjo on order from Andy Banjo which should hopefully be delivered tomorrow. I've been a wanabee frailer for sometime now so looking forward to getting my hands on it.
I live in Bedfordshire and work in IT. Two kids and a wife who is dreading the noise I'm about to inflict on her.
Regards

Welcome to frailing, Dave! I got my first banjo from Andy Banjo - I'm sure you won't be disappointed. You can always frail quietly, to keep the domestic peace. If that doesn't work, threaten to take up learning the fiddle.

Hi Dave, Welcome........ Be warned, once you get your hands on a banjo, it becomes addictive & there is no known cure !!!!
