Sorry about my lack of response, have been up north lookinf after a very frail mother.
The response has been good,so lets get jamming. I am based in Hurley,(in between Maidenhead and Henley). I can arrange any date to suit ,who knows if we have decent weather we could even pluck around in the garden.
Cheers Piers.

Hi Piers
I think a date needs to be set then we can go from there. Otherwise we could be saying yes let's do it in 09 ;D
Personally i can do evenings most tues weds & fridays, i have a site i visit in Pinkneys green M'head regularly, and would also be fine if it's a w/e

Howdy!
I'm up for jamming and am pretty local to you too (Flackwell Heath / work in Bracknell).
(I play with 'fingers n thumbs' - also in this thread, regularly).
As long as im not trapseing off round the UK (got a few long weekends booked up) or on childcare duty, i'm free most evenings !!!

Here we go. Terminology...
"Tune session" would suggest to me the event probably has dance music of the British Isles. This could be specific, eg. English, Irish etc. or mixed music. The format is all join in together.
"Session" alone (at least to me) would imply an instrumental session or one with the very occasional song. I would expect other qualifications, eg. "mixed" or "singing" if it was to be anything else.
"Jam" is not a term I usually encounter on my own folk travels. In the folk context, I tend (perhaps wrongly) to think that the use of that term instead of "session" would suggest an event where people join in together but I would be thinking more in terms of bluegrass (or perhaps old time as well?).
Of course others may read the use of these terms differently.

Hi Jon !- Thats about it ! Dance tunes , English and Irish predominate , but we do have a pretty fair Scottish fiddler who turns up quite often . It IS Tunes , but I dont for one moment think any one would object to the occasional song ! Most of us are Singers , as well as Musos . Duggyk - Not that far from you in Frackle ! I used to live in High Wycombe !!

I'm pretty sure your event would suit me well (though I look firstly for Irish sessions, repertoire wise, I'm mostly Irish "old standards" - Kesh Jig and Blackthorn Sticks,- Silver Spears and Spires, etc. with some English, eg. a Three Round Three, Galopede, Jimmy Allen, etc. in there somewhere and can once in a while give a Johny Jump Up or Maybe a 3 Score and 10, etc.).
Just getting out of Norfolk is too far! But maybe one day I'll meet you (and perhaps others here) in a session/jam.
