Evening,
I have asked Patrick if he would do us a snazzy ringtone for the mobiles, something really impressive!. I have looked out there but didn't really want dueling banjos again! I realize he's very busy at the moment with all of the improvements etc, but if any of you are in personal contact with him I would be grateful if someone could add some weight to my plea.
If you think its a rubbish idea let me know!

Could be a giggle, but I'll hold out for more lessons. Havin said that, if you go back through PC's blog a bit he did post a link to someone who had done jjust that thing.
'Course I don't have a mobile, so it's all academic to me really.

Thanks Danny, I only have a mobile because my wife makes me carry one in case I get taken ill, apart from my computer its my only concession to the 21st century ! ;D Cheers

I use vixy.net/ to grab Youtube stuff, you can grab the full video or just the audio as an MP3 - Video can be automatically formatted for ipod if that's where you plan on using it. Iain

Colin,
Video capture from Vixy is a 2 stage process, it does the conversion and then you have to click on a link to initiate the download (To a location of your choice). Is it possible that you didn't carry out the second stage?
As far as where it would have saved to, it is dependant on where you last saved anything that you downloaded, so pretty much impossible for anyone to say.
Have you searched for *.xxx where xxx relates to the extension of your chosen file format?
HTH

Google Zepp's music files - He's a guy that runs a music shop and he posts little sound clips of banjos for sale - and does some really nice frailing.
As for recording - have you tried a freeware program called audacity - it will record what ever is going through your sound card. Remember to turn the other sounds off if you don't want all the bings pops that either mean your PC is about to die or you got mail ;D

I think that Audacity is great. I use it to chop up recordings of sessions that I've made with my iPod into individual tunes and then save as MP3.
And the price is right too!

You can also use it to slow down recordings and keep the pitch the same, great for trying to figure stuff out by ear.
