Hello.
I have a five string banjo and was looking into upgrading to a better quality model and make and was going to go for a long scale tenor or plectrum banjo for some plectrum induced Irish playing....Then I thought there's really no difference in using the five string and, perhaps tuning it to GDAE for the traditional Irish tuning and ignoring the top string would give me all I need, surely?
I do enjoy playing the bluegrass style too, but it's quite confusing (well, for me anyway)
