Today Danny and I met up with Ian (iana) . They are a really nice bloke ( If that sounds obtuse watch his duelling ukes vid ) Ian would like it if we could arrange some sort of get together for those of us in Kent, or within easy reach of Kent. If any of you are interested shout out loud, and tell your mates. I'm sure he will be posting on the subject soon, so watch this space. Cheers Pete

It was good to meet up with you and Danny today Pete, and I'm glad I introduced you to a new experience!! It just seems to me that, with at least 4 of the members here living within 20 miles of each other (and that's just the ones I know about), it forms the nucleus for a bit of a get together. The question is, would anyone else be prepared to come along and make up some numbers, thereby making it worth arranging. And should it be a one day thing, a weekend thing, or just a session (afternoon/evening)? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Ian

If I had a diary I would check it. Luckily I don't know what a diary is. So it's yes from me

Not sure I will fit enough to join you but you never know. I managed to get a 5 string and getting the hang of the basic bump dit-ty but I any struggling with my first cord. I must have sausage fingers or poor manipulation as I seem to fret all the strings I don't want.

Your sausage fingers are not unique Adie! I have some from the same box!! We'll see if we can get something firmed up so we can make some proper plans. Ian

Hi everyone Love the idea but unfortunately I can't make 13 - 14 Aug (I'm in France). I live in Maidstone & would love to meet up with Clawhammer Banjo players in Kent. Only been playing 2 1/2 years & can knock out a few tunes but would love to learn more. Hope to see some of you guys soon. All the best to you all.
Jack.

Hi Guys
Thank you all for replying first of all.
Things are very flexible really, at this stage we're just guaging interest levels.
Now we know that people ARE interested we can crack on with it a bit more seriously, finding a date that works for everyone, somewhere to do it etc etc.
Let me (Danny), Pete (Ned) and Ian (Iana) know what and when is good for you (via this here forum thread topic thingy) and maybe between us all we can get something to happen, to quote from my favourite movie 'This Is Spinal Tap', 'Whadaya Say, lets Boogie!'
Danny

Hello again
After 22 Aug, I'm pretty much OK to meet up, having said that, I can't do Monday's or Thursday's (I don't have a car on those evenings).
I'm sure that you all may feel the same as me & it's more the merrier for me. Once we know who we are dealing with, we may then be able to come with a suitable venue.
Lets make this work.
Jack.
