Having been welcomed, and encouraged to post some music, I thought I'd test the water with a less than entirely serious one - Mahalo Tenor Uke with my solo effort at Hotel California. It seemed to be lacking something when I first recorded it, so I decided to tack onto the end a multitrack effort at the harmony outro. For better, or for worse, here it is! www.box.net/shared/nv67qmf9sfKeith

Thanks Danny, you're too kind. I only mess about on uke really - guitar is my main thing. I do a little bit of teaching on guitar, mostly beginner classical(ish) atm and also run a uke strummers/singers club - both mostly in our village primary school - Row, row, row your boat etc! Keith

Good to see you getting your music on here, Keith! It should be shared as widely as possible (in an entirely legal sense, obviously : .

Some great picking there! There was an article on Radio Kent this morning about the phenominal rise in the popularity of the Uke, and it seems it has/is taking over where the recorder left off in schools. Surprisingly for such a small instrument, this fat fingered member of the 'older' fratenity can cleanly get his fingers between the strings, something not possible on either the guitar or the Banjo! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your kind comments iana.
The great advantage uke has over recorder is that the player can sing as well as play! And there's no need to teach young kids to read music! For uke I just call out "the one fingered chord" and substitute two or three as necessary. They haven't really got the hang of the three fingered chord yet! I'll sneak the names onto the sheets I prepare soon so they can learn them without it being a big thing. The we can do some more chords!
