Must be my age (not for nothing have I chosen 'oldbones' as my member name .... maybe 'oldbrain' would have been more apt) .... but I've tried posting messages into the ukelele and guitar threads with attached pictures - but nothing appears after posting. I deleted them rather than leave nonsensical post referring to pics which aren't there.
I get the bit about previews not showing them, so somewhere I'm assuming this forum works in the same way as others I belong to and into which I've posted both pics and Youtube URLs. That assumption must be wrong - so what's the secret?
Also, the window below 'Subject' which provides a way to link to pics on your HD ... how does that work if you want to upload 2 or 3 pics into a post? (ie: for Amazon, after setting up one link, you get the option to add more. When I ran a test, I didn't see anything like that happening and yet the thread into which I was going to post 3 small pics of my baritone uke, clearly has messages with more than one pic per message section.)
Now off to boil my head.

Hi Oldbones,
I use an external photo hosting site, namely Photobucket (www.photobucket.com).
If you login there, sign up for a (free) account, you can upload your photos to your own personal album.
Once uploaded and saved to your album, you can click the IMG Code link which appears at the bottom of each photo in your album, which copies the code automatically to your PC 'clipboard'.
You can then simply start a new post on a thread and right click on the bit where you type into and select 'paste' and it will put the code right into the post.
Click post reply and the photo should display ok (at least that's what I do!).
Good luck with it, and I'd love to see your guitar and uke pics.
Martin

Thanks scanbran - that worked so I've posted into the uke thread and am about to post into a guitar thread now.

Glad I could help, and I've had a look at your pics now - really great quality snaps showing off some handsome instruments there!
