I thought I'd start a thread about our ukuleles, and perhaps post pics of what we play? I'll start with my first uke, which I picked up at a car boot sale. It's an Alvin D. Keech ukulele, about 100 years old, and it was in very poor repair, with front/back cracks and shrunk bindings. I bought it for £25, and took it to a local repair man, where he offered to repair it for £30. I agreed, but he then proceeded to restor the finish as well as some came off during the repair. The pics are kinda cool... http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv175/Scanbran/23042009156.jpgManaged to sell it on ebay for almost £200, so it was a good investment. Pity Fedex managed to lose the parcel...

This is the one I currently play, a Westfield mahogany concert size uke. Very nice, and a cool 'tweed' case too

Only just found this forum (never even knew it existed), so I thought I'd kick off by trying to upload a few pics of my recently-acquired baritone ukelele. I've had guitars in my life ever since I was a callow youth and boil-ridden adolescent back in the 60's (isn't that a charming image by which to introduce myself??). I only recently discovered that baritone ukes existed, so I took a punt and bought a fairly cheap model made by Brunswick. It's proved to be an unexpected joy. The first photo simply shows the difference in size between a baritone uke and a classical guitar. (Lovely instrument - it's an Admira) This is the uke on its own - This is an arty-farty photo showing the type of machine-heads that are fitted - If those show up when I post this message then all hail scanbran who answered my query about how to post pics into the forum. Finally - here's a dodgey demo (apologies for poor sound between 0.42 and 1.00 - that's caused by my old bones and mic setup). In this, I used the 3 images above and some others. I also added some basic info for anyone who was searching for baritone uke uploads. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTyNIk17Jss

Very nice, oldbones. The baritone is quite big for a uke, and that is borne out byt he sound of it on your youtube clip there. Very guitar-like in places, I thought, with a nice tone, and that's some good playing there too.
Thanks for posting, and I'm glad the pics worked out fine - good quality shots too!

Something to look into maybe, but it's got zither pins on it, so tuning the thing takes a month of sundays, and I'm not much of a Uke player, still, I suppose I could go to the woodshed and work on my ukeing......

Just going to the woodshed would be good enough for us ! If you would be so kind.
