does anyone use this in bluegrass, thumb covers 4 and 5 strings, index 3 string, middle 2 string, ring 1 string. I play guitar fingerpicking, thumb covers 654,index 3,middle 2,ring 1. it seems the most natural thing for me to do and the easiest,it will mean a slighlty more legato style, and index up picking 3 string instead ofthumb down picking it. the other style that ifind easier is thumb lead,[ thumb plays melody on 43 2 but never on 1, 1 is picked by index generally as a drone and 5 string is played often on 2 and 4 beats] because I sometimes play carter style picking on guitar.any thoughts/or advice

I tend to do much the same as your first example Dick, although fingerstyle is kinda my nemesis, sometimes the thumb goes down onto the 3rd string on guitar but not very often at all
