Hello everyone - I saw mention of this site on Mudcat so I thought I'd drop in and say hello. I've been a relatively recent convert to folkiedom - stumbling into playing guitar for my local Morris side when it started up a few years back. I've been playing Guitar for 27 years and have reached the heady heights of 14 different chords (count them!). That's about one chord every two years. Needless to say, my playing ability has not really developed very far nor reached any great heights! More recently I've been seduced by the mighty Anglo Concertina & I've been learning for the last 3 years and making reasonable progress.

Welcome aboard Woody.
Glad my little forum has been mentioned on mudcat, I little question tho, what IS mudcat? (Apart from a very dirty moggy obviously)
As an aside, I 'converted' from Heavy Metal about 3 or 4 years ago, now playing acoustic guitar (new one arriving tomorrow, yay) and 5 sting banjo. Kinda fancy a tenor banjo & guitar, just can't afford 'em.
Welcome aboard & (SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT) remember to tell your friends about us :-D

The Mudcat Cafe can be found at www.mudcat.org/threads.cfm. It's a folkie discussion area which has bits of useful info concealed by an enormous amount of bitching and name calling - not for the faint hearted. The Lyrics & Knowledge section can be very good. I'm aiming to get a Tenor Guitar in the near future. I've played around with a Baritone Ukulele tuned CGDA which came up with some really nice sounding chords.
