I had two ugly smudges on my banjo head. Every banjo I have ever seen has at least one of these. I don't like them but had no way of getting rid of them that didn't damage the "frosting" Until I used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. No water needed and it didn't damage my banjo head.
No, I'm not selling these things. I didn't think they'd work at all but when I was cutting one down to put under my strings as a mute it rubbed off some of the grime. Works well on keyboards too.
