Hi all
I am thinking of making myself a concert size ukulele. I have got a Soprano size ukulele and I find it just that little bit too small. I was just wondering if anyone on here has built one or has any handy tips on building one. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks, ;D

Sam, they're not uke specific (guitar if anything) but you should get summat from these www.kitguitarbuilder.comwww.frets.comwww.mimf.com - Musical Instrument Makers Forum www.luth.org - Luthiers Guild www.stewmac.com - Click on the 'free info/instructions' link in the sidebar (can't remember the exact name), and just for the sake of completeness www.lmii.com - Suppliers like stew mac, not that much instruction, but might be useful anyhow Hope it goes well mate, keep us informed Danny

Hi All
I thought I would update you on how my ukulele building is doing. I bought a Concert size ukulele plan off EBay. I then started to make the mould for the ukulele.
I made the mould out of 6 Layers of 12mm or half an inch MDF which were then stuck together. Then with a little help from a friend who was accurate with a Jigsaw cut out the shape for the ukulele body. Then the mould was stuck to old piece of plywood.
I then stuck Silicone Release paper to the side of the mould so when I come to stick the two bits of plywood to make the body they will not stick to the mould.
I want to post a photo of it for people to see but I can't seem to do it. Can anyone help?
Cheers, Banjo Sam ;D

Hi Sam
To insert an image you:
1. Go to "Photobucket.com" and join for free. 2. Once your signed up click on "Upload Images & Video choose files. 3. Select your images from your computer. 4. Once your image appears copy the IMG Code and paste it in this box and it should work.

I haven’t updated for awhile now because I haven’t done alot of work on my ukulele lately. But I did laminate to pieces of thin ply wood together and bent it round the mould and clamped it in place. I decided to only use the middle part of the mould in the end because it was easier to bend the plywood round it.
