Hi can we have some more sections please Folk Music Organisers Sub sections Concerts Singalongs Sessions Morris/Dance Miscellaneous wind instruments Sub Sections bagpipes flute Sax etc etc Percussion Sub Sections Drums Bodhran etc Acapella Singing Sub Sections unaccompanied singers Harmony Sea Shanty Choir etc Audience Sub Sections Gig reviews Club recommendations Gripes Etc If this website is to grow, it needs to be more inclusive, so hopefully if the above recommendations are implemented, more people will join. While all very worthy additions I really see no great need or desire to cut up the forum into minutia at this point.
INVHO the only thing worse than having to trawl through countless forums and sub-forums to read / find an interesting post is trawling through countless EMPTY forums and sub-forums.
It would be my recommendation to let the "active members" dictate the content, in a way that has happended with Singers Forum request. For example, "Danny, can you please put up a tambourine section, I play this instrument and would like to talk to other tambourinists about ......". It's then down to the requester to help populate the forum/sub forum with posts and get interest going.
Just my 2c as past Admin and Moderator of several very successful online communities.
