I would like to send a big thank you to Fr Keith for his organisation of the UK Folkies Weekend. It was fantastic, every minute of it. Great venue, great company.
Thanks to Wolfgang for the 'UK Folkies Weekend' stickers.
This looks like it will be an annual event - you'll regret it if you miss it.

I heartily concur with everything Dick just said. It was GREAT playing with everyone for the weekend, even if I did suck (ha ha)
I'm just glad Wolfgang let me have my guitar back before I went home (don't worry Wolfgang, I love ya baby ;D )

P.S. The stickers rock, although I now wanna get some yellow 'CRIME SCENE - DO NOT ENTER' tape for my guitar case as well.
That probably says more about me than the stickers however :-)

Yes to all that,
BIG thanks to Fr Keith for organising a fantastic weekend. It was relaxed & fun, the jamming was great, everyone was enthusiastic and friendly.
It was a real pleasure to meet you all and, as Roj says, it's nice to be able to put faces to names.
Roland
ps. thanks to Wolfgang for the stickers.

hi all,
Yes, BIG BIG THANKS! to Keith for setting this up.
I absolutely loved meeting everyone, and getting to play and sing together was great fun.
I must apologise for my dreadful howling but I blame the doggy toothbrush I bought for making my voice ruff ruff.
check banjohopeful to spot yourself on youtube.

Well, you can probably guess what I'm going to say!
I'd like to add my thanks to everyone involved especially Keith for the brilliant location and all the admin stuff that went with it!. Everyone who was there couldn't have been any friendlier and the staff were 'dead on'.
Thanks to James and Keith for getting the internationals to the train station.
I agree that the First Annual UK Folkies Retreat was a great success.
Alan.

Exactly one week ago Carlos and I where packing and setting the alarm clock (several of them) to make sure we would be on time to catch the plane to Manchester.....early in the morning.
What a treat! Thanks to everybody for everything:
*to Pat ad Patrick, the soul of every pick and strum we make. *to Danny for this forum to get in touch with each other *to Father Keith for making the thing happen, and for driving "the shuttle" to Manchester for us *to Wolfang and Alan for waiting for us in Piccadilly Station to go to Sheffield (yes Wolfgang, for the stickers, lyrics&chords..too) *to Dick to allow us to hear, look at and taste his pipes *to Roger for the slide workshops *to Danielle and Payson for bringing two outstanding instruments the very first S-1 (001!) and the wonderfull bouzouki and to Colin, James, Roland, Bill, Les, Keith, Linda, Chris, Marc ......do I miss someone???
WE WILL BE THERE NEXT TIME !!!!

It was a hell of a good weekend wasn't it Camilo? I'm still trying to puzzle out that card trick (with no luck at all I might add)

Looking forward to seeing you both again next year, so Camillo, just how do I get glasses of whiskey to appear from thin air, it will save me a fortune.
