THIS IS NOW SOLD, ANOTHER UK FOLKIES FIRST
Hi,
I have a Gold Tone CC100 OT F (or plus, see high-res photo linked at bottom for ref and serial no), for sale.
I bought it recently from Andy Banjos to take with me when I travel *. I’m travelling but the banjo isn’t so I want to offer it for sale.
It’s a maple wood Open back in excellent condition, hardly played; it has a renaissance head and a no-knot tail piece, planetary tuners, rolled brass tone ring twin coordinator rods, bone nut and 5th string pip, G string compensated bridge.
There are no knocks or scratches, no fret or fretboard wear.
It has a blue (very basic) strap. Also, I have a used Fibersking head that can be fitted instead of the renaissance since some folk don’t like them renaissance ones; the Fibersking gives a nice ‘plunky’ OT sound but it shows a little wear where the thumb hits over the 5th. On the renaissance evidence of the thumb strikes can only be seen on close inspection, it looks new).
*I bought a very inexpensive banjo to take with me but returned the following day because I didn’t liked how it sounded. Kind and patient Andy told me I had to go for an intermnediate+ banjo to get a reasonable sound and I bought the best one of the few he thought suitable. Partly because I feel bad about trashing it on the move and because I travel a lot and it’s inconvenient to carry around, it’s staying at home where it serves no purpose!
It sounds great for the price, mellow yet loud and it remains set and fitted as when I took it from Andy’s shop not two months ago. I thought I’d better offer it at good price here and other banjo related websites/noticeboards.
£230.00 (plus post).
I live near Tunbridge Wells where you can see/hear/play it if you happen to come to his neck of the woods. If you are interested email me at irta62@hotmail.com or call 07798803307.
