Does anyone know of any good websites / vids that teach this method? I'm just having a go at it as well as frailing. I found this website that shows how to play Cripple Creek and Foggy Mountain Breakdown, but it's all tablature and MP3. It isn’t ideal but it’s fun to learn a song or two! www.banjoben.com/free_banjo_lessons.htmCheers

Hi Tom, try musicmoose.org, thier beginner banjo tutor, Dave Cavage has posted well over a hundred beginner bluegrass banjo lessons, covering rolls, songs, music theory and many licks. It's all free and there is also heaps of mandolin, guitar, and fiddle lessons too! All free, you don't even have to join anything. Check it out, me ol' china, you're bound to find something useful there. David is methodical and thorough, so be warned! I have found him very very helpful as generally, there isn't alot out there besides bits and pieces. David can take you quite a long way on your Scruggs-style journey. Good luck with it!
