You can use archive.org to host your audio files. The how-to in "A Folk Musicians Guide to Web Publishing" will get you started. funkyseagull.com/web-publish.pdfDrop me a note when I get back online if you need help. -Patrick

Dave 69 is right. The camera need only show the fretboard, or be positioned so you can see the fretboard and the picking fingers, without showing much of the musician. It would make it much easier for people to follow, too.

Hi danny ... I would have thought its time to invest in a cheap webcam and a seperate mic for better sound as you can move the mic closer and use "you tube" . I am the same as you as regards showing my face etc ... but loads of lessons are done on close up of the fret board and to be honest - they are the ones that seem most helpfull to me as a learner of the banjo and also extra stuff on guitar . I have a mic you can have for free if you like as I bought a dedicated music recording mic for the pc so I dont use the other one and it might as well go to a good home and get some use . You're right Davey, I had a shuftie on ebay, web cams are A LOT cheaper than I thought. I've got my eye on an 8mp one with a built in mic. As for the mic, I'll happily take it off you. I'll PM you about it mate Thanks Danny

Well done Danny, it takes guts to go first. Hope that your new banjo arrives soon so that we can hear some banjo tips too.

Hi Bill
The banjo won't get to me until the UK Folkies retreat in early December alas. The wait is prooving to be hell, believe me.
I MIGHT put up a few banjo things, but I'm not even close to being the kind of banjo player I'd need to be for that. I'm not ENTIRELY certain that i've got the frailing strum down yet.
I think I can guarantee that I'll do something showing it off when I get it tho.
I've just gotta hope that my playing improves to the point of being able to justify owning such a good banjo.

Hi Danny, There is an old saying that a poor workman blames his tools ... but I have never seen a good workman using bad tools! So I think that the moral of the story is don't worry about it and just enjoy playing a wonderful instrument. Speaking for myself i was sorely temted to place an order for one of Patrick's new designs but had other more pressing commitments. Now the pound has slipped against the dollar and I'm kind of wishing that I had! cheers Bill
