Fancy that! Do they allow banjo playing in there?!
Hope the chemo wasn't too gruelling, Andrew.

The kind of drug I take is a monoclonal antibody and doesnt have the adverse side effects of some of the others. I am trying to get off Prednisolone (steroids) which do cause a lot of damage. I didnt ask in the pub if they have music nights, I might go back there sometime soon and ask! Cheers Sooze..

Good to hear you feel ok Andrew. One of my cats was on Prednisolone - she put on a lot of weight so she has a different steroid now, and has got her figure back!
Maybe you should offer to sit outside with your banjo, playing Cripple Creek, to draw in the punters - for a large fee, naturally!

I'm the size of a small bungalow now Sooze... been on steroids for four years... I didnt know they put cats on steroids! Did you know that it can cause 'drug induced psycosis?' (Effectively you are psycotic) They only told me that after a breakdown! Still, I start reducing the steroids today..! HOORAY

Andrew - no I didn't know that about steroids, that's very interesting. (Elsa seems ok and she has been on steroids for years so perhaps cats are not affected in the same way? I do know that steroids can play havoc with kidney/liver function in cats though. Elsa's just had that checked out and is fine thankfully.) Anyway, I hope you can manage to reduce the steroids successfully. I think getting the dose just right must be a bit of a fine art.
Danny - must be rotten for you to feel so bad, but remember we are all your friends here and hopefully we'll be able to help keep your spirits up.

Hi Sooze, It took about a year to get the dose right, it must always be as low as possible if you are on it for a long time. It also causes bone degradation leading to osteoporosis (Bone densitometry scans needed annually) and all sorts of nasty things eventually. Best wishes to Elsa by the way I hope she is OK! And I echo your comment to Danny Cheers! Andrew

We persevere (sp???) Andrew mate, but it can be tough. Hanging out with you folks often provides a much needed escape, so you all help without even realising.
Also, remembering to take your medicine on time works wonders. Problem is I'm VERY bad at taking my medicine on time, I just don't think of it.
I hope your health improves soon (and dramatically) mate.
Send me an email or a Pm if you wanna talk about depression/breakdowns etc privately
Danny
