Can anyone point me in the direction of the tab, if available, for 'Blackberry Blossom' - I'd love to learn it, but can only find YouTube vids of it (in Bluegrass Style - not my favourite, I'm afraid). Also, would like to find the words........ Anyone able to help with this?
Gosh, it's hard work thinking up all these new threads..........! ;D

Sooze, If you haven't visited there already check out Mike Iverson's website, a great resource for tabs and instructional material, most of the tabs have sound files and additional notes too. www.bluesageband.com/Tabs.htmlHave fun.

Mark - I had a peep at Mike Iverson's website - looks like there's some good stuff on there to investigate more thoroughly - thanks a lot for the link - guess I'll be spending even more time at the pc now checking all that out! (And then trying it out!) ;D Dick - WOW! Oh, to be able to play like Banjer! Could watch and listen to that vid all evening - he makes it look so easy, too! Thanks for the link - that was too good to miss! BTW, I found the words to Blackberry Blossom - think they are the right ones, anyway - they certainly seem to fit the tune: www.michelleshocked.com/chords_blackberry_blossom.htm if anyone ever wants them!

Dick - can you post a few links to some really crap banjo playing now so I can undo the damage that last one did to my self-confidence?

Thanks for that link Colin. Can you supply sub titles for the whatever he is waffling on about. What is the language he is speaking? He seems to play the banjo quite well which should give us all hope. If only we could get him to come to the retreat we could perhaps train him how to say a sentence or two which we could understand, perhaps not.

I'll get the words and chords ti you Keith, Dick I couldn't understand what he was waffling about either, divunt think it would be wise to try and fetch him doon from 'up north', they get upset when taken out of their natural habitat. I've heard the further north you go, the worst they get, I found this guy who doesn't even speak, just sits in a place called a hearth plucking on his primitive drum and stick, notice the ferocious stare about half way through when he notices the camera. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP-EgRTecHAThink we should keep well clear of these northerners.

Colin, I would think the best way to keep clear of these northern types is simply to put a weight limit on the retreat. That should keep them both out. Is it true that they were so fat that a car hire man in the States wouldn't let them hire a normal sized car and made them upgrade to a larger vehicle.

I heard he'd made them upgrade when they told him they were still waiting for a pie-munching priest from Yorkshire to join them!!
